On October 8, 2015, Remai Modern was pleased to announce a major corporate donation of $650,000 from BMO Financial Group. In recognition of this generous gift, one of the three large “marquee” gallery spaces on the museum’s third floor will be named the BMO Gallery for the life of the building.
The announcement was made in Saskatoon by Ken Fetherstonhaugh, Regional Vice-President & Managing Director, Prairies, for BMO Private Banking. “BMO is deeply committed to the arts and culture in Canada, and we are proud to support the development of Remai Modern,” he said.
“We look forward to celebrating and welcoming residents and visitors to share in one of the most visionary new art museums in North America.”

“The BMO Gallery will be one of the premier spaces in Remai Modern,” said Gregory Burke, Remai Modern Executive Director & CEO. “At more than 2,000 square feet, this is one of the larger galleries of the 11 in the building, and it will showcase touring exhibitions of national and international significance.
“We anticipate the BMO Gallery will present three major exhibitions a year, and more than 150,000 people, including families and school tours, will visit them in the first year alone,” Burke said.
