Remai Modern to reopen August 13, 2020

For immediate release — July 13, 2020

SASKATOON, CANADA — After nearly five months closed to the public to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Remai Modern is thrilled to announce its reopening date. Members will be welcomed back to the museum beginning August 6, with new health and safety measures in place to protect both guests and staff. Public hours resume on August 13.

“A museum isn’t a museum without its visitors. We’ve been encouraged by the support of our members during this challenging period. Giving them early access to the museum for the first four days of our reopening is a small way of saying thank you. We are delighted to welcome the public back the following week,” said Lynn McMaster, Remai Modern’s Interim Executive Director & CEO. “The wellbeing of our guests and staff is our first priority so we will share a number of measures in the coming weeks that we are taking to ensure everyone has a healthy, safe and inspiring experience when they come back to Remai Modern.”

Some of the new guidelines visitors should be aware of include:

Tickets: Visitors are encouraged to purchase their admission tickets in advance to limit contact during their visit. Members enjoy unlimited admission  and do not need to pre-register their visit.

Hours: The museum’s operating hours will be adjusted to Thursday to Sunday from 10 AM-5 PM. Updates to this schedule will be posted on Remai Modern’s website as soon as they are available.

Increased sanitation: Frequency of cleaning has been increased throughout the building, particularly in high traffic areas. Additionally, hand sanitization stations have been added throughout the building.

Signage: New signs throughout the building will indicate maximum number of people in designated spaces, traffic flow and other important changes.

Masks: Visitors are encouraged to wear a face covering while at Remai Modern.

If you are feeling unwell, please stay home.
